Aurangabad : The Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, which has been pending for many years, has finally got its time. As soon as the land for the scheme was received from the government, within three weeks, the Municipal Corporation has prepared a proposal of 39 thousand 760 houses and sent it to the government. So the dream of the homeless will come true. The work of completing this scheme has been given to a company named Samarth Construction & JV.
Under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, the central government had announced to give entitlement houses to the homeless who do not have their own land for the economically weaker sections. Those people were assured of providing houses by 2022. But, in Aurangabad this plan was not being implemented. The district administration woke up after MP Imtiaz Jaleel raised several questions on the work of the administration by raising his voice in the Lok Sabha regarding this scheme.

Here, the municipal administration had corresponded many times to the district administration about providing immediate land for PM Awas Yojana. The district administration was ignoring the letters of the municipal administration. As soon as MP Jalil raised his voice in the Lok Sabha, the district administration woke up and land was made available for the PM Awas Yojana in a hurry. After three weeks, the Municipal Corporation has prepared the project report by taking out the tender. Because, the government had given orders to complete the tender process by the end of March 2022.
Land made available in the last week of February 2022
Out of total 7 places given by District Magistrate Sunil Chavan, 39 thousand 760 houses will be constructed. On the other hand, after the proposal of PM Awas Yojana reached the Central Government from the State Government, Union Minister of State for Finance Dr. Bhagwat Karad has assured to find out its solution immediately. Along with this, the Industries Minister of the state and the foster minister of the district, Subhash Desai are making efforts at the state level. Municipal sources said that the land was made available by the district administration in the last week of February 2022. The tender for DPR was made public on 17th February. Approval for the construction of the house project with private participation was received on 22 February 2022. After opening the tender on 7th March, three tenders became technically eligible. The tender was awarded to Samarth Construction & JV on 11th March.
The administration provided land at these places
560 houses will be constructed in 1.02 hectares provided by the district administration in the group number 216 of Harsul. 728 houses will be constructed in 3.16 hectares of group number 69 of Padegaon. 5 thousand 936 houses in 15 hectares of Tisgaon group no. 223/1, 23 thousand 800 houses in 86 hectares of Tisgaon group no. 227.1, 6216 houses in 15 hectares of group no. 9 and 10 of Sundarwadi, Chikalthana’s group no. 473 2 thousand 510 houses will be constructed in 6.72 hectares. In order to complete this project, Additional Commissioner BB Nemane, Deputy Commissioner Aparna Thete, City Engineer Sakharam Panjhde besides Deputy Director Municipal Rachna AB Deshmukh are engaged in strenuous efforts on the information of Municipal Administrator Astik Kumar Pandey.
