Ranchi : In order to provide quality training to MGNREGA workers and Horticulture Sakhi/Mitra beneficiaries working at the grassroots level and the beneficiaries associated with village schemes, the state government today released a booklet named “Birsa Harit” based on the Green Village Scheme. Released. On this occasion, Dr. Manish Ranjan, Secretary, Rural Development Department, who was present in the program said that the ambitious scheme ‘Birsa Green Gram Yojana’ is being implemented under MNREGA for the last several years. The department is very serious about the successful implementation of this scheme.
Several guidelines have been issued from time to time for better implementation of the scheme, availability of quality material on time and monitoring of the scheme. There is a need to provide training for better implementation and proper management of this scheme, which the government is committed to do with its responsibility.

Dr. Manish Ranjan said that this booklet will prove to be a milestone for the beneficiaries of Birsa Harit Gram Yojana and Horticulture Sakhi/Mitra, Mahila Mat and MGNREGA workers. He said that the continuous expansion of Horticulture Scheme under MGNREGA would not only help in strengthening the livelihood but would also help in making the state of Jharkhand more green and in the category of states with highest productivity of fruits.
Moving towards making the livelihood even stronger
On this occasion MGNREGA commissioner Rajeshwari B. Said that the implementation of ‘Birsa Harit Gram Yojana’ under MGNREGA is being done for the last few years to generate employment in rural areas and to provide support to agriculture based livelihood. He said that the Horticulture scheme has not only created an additional source of income for the poor families, but MGNREGA has also played an important role in making their barren vacant land fertile and increasing its utility. Along with this, the beneficiaries of inter-cultivation of many other types of crops and vegetables within horticulture are moving towards making their livelihood even stronger.
Remedies and important guidelines mentioned
Rajeshwari B. Said that this training booklet on Birsa Harit Gram Yojana has been prepared by the Rural Development Department to fulfill the objective of Birsa Harit Gram Yojana. In this booklet, from the selection of horticulture scheme to its care and identification of diseases of crops and its treatment and important guidelines have been mentioned. He said that this training booklet would prove to be very useful for the training of beneficiaries of Birsa Harit Gram Yojana, Horticulture Sakhi/Mitra, Mahila Mat and MGNREGA workers. Tim Coordinator Prem Shankar, MGNREGA State Program Officer Shiv Shankar Singh and other officials of the department were present on the occasion.
