Nagpur. There is a plan to distribute 10 goats and goats or 2 cows or 2 milch cattle at 90 percent grant from the Zilla Parishad Animal Promotion Department. This scheme was prepared for the well-educated unemployed including marginal landholder farmers, but sources have claimed that the benefit of this scheme is being given to the wealthy farmers on the recommendation of the officers and members.
In the list of beneficiaries of 2021 prepared by the department, the farmers owning 10-15 acres have been included by separating the eligible beneficiaries. The department had earlier run the scheme for the beneficiaries of Scheduled Castes, Jamaatis, but the Open and OBC category was deprived of it. Animal Promotion Minister Sunil Kedar decided to start it in Nagpur district for all sections on experimental element.
32.20 crore sanctioned
A fund of Rs 32.20 crore has been approved for this scheme. 2,600 beneficiaries are going to be given benefits for this scheme through the Department of Zip Animal Promotion. For this, about 9,000 applications have been received so far. Cattle rearing is being encouraged as a supplementary occupation with agriculture. Under the scheme, a grant of Rs 1.20 lakh will be given to the beneficiaries.
The objective of the scheme is to provide self-employment opportunities in open and OBC categories as well. The source claims that the list of beneficiaries has been prepared keeping the rules in mind, according to the recommendations of the officers and members of the zip circle, due to which the eligible beneficiaries will be deprived of it.
