Provision of 500 crores for Sona-Sobran scheme, the Chief Minister himself is monitoring

Ranchi : For the upliftment of the poor, the state government has run a scheme called Sona Sobran. Sona Sobran is providing clothes under Dhoti Saree Scheme at Rs.

Lakhs of BPL holders of the state are getting benefit from this scheme. The government has made a provision of Rs 500 crore for the scheme. The beneficiary is being given dhoti, sari or lungi for Rs 10 under this scheme twice a year. Since the launch of the scheme, 88 percent needy people have been given the benefit of the scheme. The government has set a target to benefit 57.11 lakh families of the state under the scheme.

Chief Minister himself is monitoring

The Chief Minister is also interacting with the beneficiaries by providing them dhoti-sari in the divisional level program organized under Your Adhikar- Your Government Aapke Dwar program. In this sequence, the Chief Minister has directed the public representatives and officials to inform the villagers about this scheme and also ensure to give benefits. Ration shopkeepers have been ordered to distribute clothes by organizing camps, so that everyone can get the benefit of the scheme. It is to be known that during the last two years, the government has started many schemes. All these plans are being implemented very fast. In this episode, the Dhoti-Sari distribution scheme has been restarted.

Proposal to include others also accepted

Under the “Sona-Sobran Ghoti-Sari Distribution Scheme” by the State Government, all the eligible households and the beneficiary families of Antyodaya Anna Yojana in the state covered by the National Food Security Act, besides the beneficiary families of Jharkhand State Food Security Scheme should also be covered under the scheme. The approval has been given by the Council of Ministers. The maximum prescribed limit of beneficiary under Jharkhand State Food Security Scheme is 15 lakhs. At present there are 13,04,093 beneficiaries and 4, 38, 989 families (variable) under Jharkhand State Food Security Scheme. Based on the above, if there are 15 lakh beneficiaries under the scheme, the number of families is likely to be 5, 05, 050. The maximum number of beneficiaries covered under the National Food Security Act is 2, 64, 25, 385, under which the possible number of families is 58, 97, 561. Thus, after the inclusion of the beneficiary families of ISFSS scheme in the Sona-Sobran Dhoti-Saree distribution scheme, the possible total number of beneficiary families has become 64, 02, 611 (Variable).
