Under PMKVY, as on July 10, 2021, 1 crore 37 lakh candidates have been enrolled in over 700 districts since the launch of the scheme. The purpose of this program is to empower Indian youth.

PMKVY Scheme details: The government on Friday said that 1.37 crore candidates have enrolled themselves under the scheme since the launch of Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY) till July 10 this year. This scheme is implemented in more than 700 districts and 37 areas. Minister for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship Dharmendra Pradhan said that under this scheme about 1.29 crore candidates are trained/oriented during this period.
“Under PMKVY, till July 10, 2021, 137 lakh candidates have been enrolled in over 700 districts since the launch of this scheme,” he said in a written reply to a question in Rajya Sabha. It aims to empower Indian youth through skill development. Under the Skill India Mission, the Ministry is implementing its flagship scheme PMKVY which has two components – Short Term Training (STT) and Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL).
8805 crores spent
He said that till July 10, an expenditure of Rs 8,805.82 crore has been made against the budgetary allocation of Rs 10,641 crore. In another reply, he said that under the third phase of PMKVY, the target is to train eight lakh candidates across the country.
This scheme was launched in July 2015.
The Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY) of the Government of India was launched in July 2015. The objective of the scheme is to provide employment to such people who are less educated or drop out of school in between. The main objective of the scheme is to organize all the youth in the country and improve their skills and give employment according to their qualification. To enable more and more people to join this scheme, the youth also have the facility to take loans.
no fees for training
In this scheme, registration is done for three months, six months and one year. Certificate is given after completing the course. This certificate is valid all over the country. The youth do not have to pay any training fees, the fees are paid by the government itself. Under this scheme, most of the less educated or middle school dropouts are given skill training.
