‘Kisan Suryoday Yojana’: PM Modi will start on October 24, why is big news for farmers

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate three major projects in Gujarat through video conferencing on 24 October. He will start the ‘Kisan Suryodaya Yojana’ for the farmers of Gujarat. In addition, PM will inaugurate a mobile application for Pediatric Heart Hospital and Tele-Cardiology along with UN Mehta Institute of Cardiology and Research Center at Civil Hospital, Ahmedabad. He will also inaugurate a ropeway project in Girnar on the occasion.

What is ‘Kisan Sunrise Scheme’

The Gujarat government has recently started the ‘Kisan Suryodaya Yojana’ for the purpose of ensuring day-time power supply for irrigation. Under this, there is a provision of supplying electricity to farmers from 5 am to 9 pm. The state government has allocated a budget of Rs 3500 crore for setting up transmission infrastructure under this scheme by 2023. Under the project, 234 ’66-kilowatt-capacity transmission lines of 3490 circuit kilometers will be installed along with 220 kW sub-station.

Dahod, Patan, Mahisagar, Panchmahal, Chhota Udepur, Kheda, Tapi, Valsad, Anand and Gir-Somnath have been included under the plan for 2020-21. The remaining districts will be covered in a phased manner by 2022-23.

Ropeway at Girnar Hill

On this day, the ropeway will be inaugurated on Girnar hill by the Prime Minister. With its introduction, Gujarat will once again emerge on the global tourism map. Initially it will have 25-30 cabins with a capacity to carry 8 people. This ropeway will cover 2.3 kilometers in just 7.5 minutes. Tourists will be able to see the natural beauty around the Girnar mountain while traveling on this ropeway. 800 passengers can be transported and transported every hour through this ropeway. The project has been completed at a cost of Rs 130 crore.

Mobile App for Tele-Cardiology

The Prime Minister will also inaugurate the Pediatric Heart Hospital associated with the U.N. Mehta Institute of Cardiology and Research Center and will inaugurate a mobile application for telecardiology at the Civil Hospital, Ahmedabad. The UN Mehta Institute is one of the few hospitals in the world equipped with world-class medical infrastructure and medical facilities.

The UN Mehta Institute of Cardiology is being expanded at a cost of Rs 470 crore. After the completion of the expansion project, the number of beds here will increase from 450 to 1251. The institute will also become the largest super specialty cardiac educational institution in the country. Which will be one of the largest super specialty cardiac hospitals in the world.

The building of the institute has been made earthquake resistant, in which security facilities like fire hydrant system and fire mist system have been provided. Its research center will have the first such advanced cardiac ICU in the country with facilities like ventilator, IABP, hemodialysis, ECMO etc. 14 operation centers and 7 cardiac catheterization labs will also be started in the institute.
