Business of about 5000 crores has been affected due to the ongoing farmers’ movement in and around Delhi. This was revealed in a conference organized by the Confederation of All India Traders (CAT). CAT organized a conference of major organizations of various sections related to farmer laws in New Delhi in view of the possible inconveniences caused to various sections of the economy due to the farmer movement. All those involved have unanimously urged the leaders of the movement to resolve their issues through the ongoing dialogue with the government.
It has also been urged to the government that the views of the peasant class be heard with open thoughts and that the solution should be resolved soon by accepting their legitimate demands through dialogue. Various leaders in the conference said that they sympathize with the legitimate demands of the farmers. After independence till now the farmer has been cultivating losses in the country, so surely it has become very important to convert farmer’s deficit farming to profit farming so that the common farmer of the country is encouraged to do farming only. .
According to a rough estimate, movement of about 30 to 40 percent of the goods coming to Delhi has been affected by the farmer movement. Its adverse effect is on the business of Delhi and neighboring states. In the last twenty days, trade of about 5000 thousand crores has been affected in Delhi and surrounding states.
Agricultural legislation is not limited to farmers only
All the leaders involved in the conference said that it is completely wrong to call agricultural laws related to farmers only. With these laws, not only the farmers but also the traders who trade agricultural food grains including consumers, industries and trade engaged in food processing, seed and pesticide making industries, people making fertilizers and other fertile products, wholesalers and retailers, brokers and agriculture People belonging to many sections including big industries related to it will be affected. Therefore, there is a need to protect the interests of all stakeholders from these laws.
This decision was taken in the conference
The conference said that in view of the current situation arising out of the farmers’ movement and the possible impact of this movement on economic activities, a meeting of farmer leaders and all other sections related to agriculture should be called soon. In this, a formula should be drawn on the basis of mutual co-ordination to convert the farmer’s losses into profit farming. For this, a committee of prominent leaders of all sections was formed, whose convener Naresh Sirohi was appointed as the senior farmer leader of the country. This committee will soon hold a meeting after talking to the agitating leaders of the agitation.
Why a quick solution is necessary
It was said in the conference that all the people of the country respect the democratic superintendence of the farmers’ movement and the farmers have every right to speak their words. But if the impact of the peasant movement affects the rights of other people, then it is not at all appropriate. If this continues, then in the near future, traders, transporters and other people of Delhi will suffer a great loss of business. Business and other activities have already been badly affected due to Corona.
