Under Atal Insured Persons Welfare Scheme, the employees of the organized sector who lose employment get financial help from the government. This is a kind of unemployment allowance, which benefits only those employees who are covered under the ESI scheme. That is, ESI contribution is deducted from their monthly salary.
Under the scheme, financial relief will be given for a maximum 90 days i.e. 3 months after being unemployed by the government. The Atal Insured Persons Welfare Scheme is effective from July 1, 2018. Initially, it was implemented on a two-year pilot basis. Earlier this scheme was extended till 31 December 2020, but now it can be taken advantage of by June 2021. For the employees who lost jobs during the COVID 19 pandemic, the rules of this scheme have been relaxed, while those whose job has gone before the pandemic, this scheme will be applicable with its actual eligibility conditions. Under the scheme, the period of COVID 19 epidemic has been considered from 24 March to 31 December 2020.
Those who lost jobs during the COVID period get a discount
