Objectives of Maternity Vandana Scheme
The scheme aims to provide financial assistance to pregnant women. Pradhan Mantri Maternity Vandana Yojana (PMMVY) or Pradhan Mantri Pregnancy Assistance Scheme is a flagship scheme of the Narendra Modi government for pregnant women and lactating mothers. Under this Pregnant Women Economic Assistance Scheme, the Central Government is providing financial assistance of Rs 6000 for pregnant women and lactating mothers for the birth of the first surviving child. This will help in the expenses of delivery time with the incoming child. Which will benefit the poor women who do not have money to eat healthy food for the mother with the child. Those women will benefit immensely from this scheme.
6000 rupees will be provided as financial assistance for pregnant women. This scheme has been started in about 650 districts. As financial assistance, pregnant women will get Rs 6000, which will be in three installments. The assistance amount will be directly transferred to the beneficiary woman’s bank account. Plan installments and conditions
The beneficiary woman will get the benefit of the scheme i.e. Rs 6000, in three installments from pregnancy to child birth. The first installment will be available after the registration of the pregnant woman. The second installment will be given after 6 months and the third installment will be given after the birth of the child. The eligible beneficiaries will receive the balance as per the approved norms for maternity benefit under Janani Suraksha Yojana after delivery in the institution.
