Ranchi: Agriculture Minister Badal Patralekh said that all Birsa farmers of the state have to be covered with Kisan Credit Card. It is our goal to benefit all Birsa farmers, whether they are PH card, green ration card, white ration card holder or sharecropper, by connecting them with Kisan Credit Card.
Badal Patralekh said that by reconciling with the bank, maximum needy farmers should get its benefits, so that no one’s application should be rejected by the bank unnecessarily. He was reviewing the work being done by the Agriculture Department along with the Deputy Commissioners of various districts of South Chotanagpur Division in the divisional level review meeting held at Nepal House today.

Badal said that one paddy procurement center should be opened in every two panchayats in the state and it should be linked with lamp packs. Along with this, he said that such a system should be made so that the samples of paddy can be checked by the farmers near their residence. Badal Patralekh said that transparency should be brought in the auction of ponds for fish production so that more people can participate in it. With the involvement of more people, the revenue of the government will also increase.

The Minister said that in order to strengthen the irrigation system in the state, special attention should be paid to the construction of new ponds as well as the restoration of old ones. Dobha construction and deep boring system should also be made available to the farmers. He said that people should be connected with the Chief Minister Pashudhan Yojana, which would help in the all-round development of the farmers.

Agriculture Secretary Abu Bakr Siddiqui, in the course of review, told the Deputy Commissioners of all the districts of the division that our priority is to provide maximum benefits to the beneficiaries. For this, in the promotion of the schemes of the Agriculture Department, use of flax, street plays, agricultural fairs as per the COVID guidelines, so that more and more people can be made aware to take advantage of the schemes. He said that the Deputy Commissioners of all the districts should review the Agriculture Department from time to time and keep the Headquarters apprised of the requirements related to it. He said that if there is any new initiative in any district, then share it.
Attention drawn towards shortage of man power
The attention of the department was drawn to the shortage of man power in the Agriculture Department by the Deputy Commissioners, due to which there is a problem in the implementation of the schemes. On this, the Agriculture Secretary said that according to the rules, manpower should be restored from outsource also and the new districts formed after the formation of Jharkhand should make available the application for the post of Sanxon of Agriculture Department to the Headquarters. In the review meeting, Director of Agriculture Nisha Oraon, Director of Animal Husbandry Shashiprakash Jha, Director of Fisheries H.N. Dwivedi, cooperative registrar Mrityunjay Varnwal, committee director Subhash Singh and special secretary Pradeep Hazare along with officers of the department were present.
