- Villagers found it impossible to get tap water
- At MSEDCL office
- 1.79 lakh of gram. tax arrears of
Asegaon. Due to the outstanding electricity bill, it has become impossible for the villagers to get tap water due to the water supply scheme being broken by Mahavitaran. But the Gram Panchayat owes tax of Rs 1 lakh 79 thousand 175 on the Mahavitaran Company office. Yet Mahavitaran has broken the power supply.
On 30th December, due to the outstanding electricity bill under the water supply scheme on the concerned Gram Panchayat, and due to non-payment of the outstanding bill by the concerned Gram Panchayat, on 30th December, through the concerned Mahavitaran Company, for the smooth water supply scheme for the village. The power has been cut.
Due to which the villagers are now finding it impossible to get tap water. At the same time, the Gram Panchayat has handed over the receipt of the tax collection bill of the Gram Panchayat to the Mahavitaran Company at the concerned Mahavitaran Company office. But the general public of the village is getting crushed in the mess of both the departments.
The office of Mahavitaran Company in Asegaon is functioning well in public service since last many years. And for the last three years, the tax collection bill of the Gram Panchayat is pending with the Mahavitaran Company. The amount of which is 1 lakh 79 thousand 175 rupees as per the receipts submitted by the Gram Panchayat. Despite such a huge amount remaining outstanding on the concerned MahaVitaran Department, cutting the electricity of the water supply scheme of the Gram Panchayat is like a direct attack.
Because according to the Gram Panchayat, only Rs.50,000 will be paid on the Gram Panchayat. Only the bill of Mahavitaran is pending. Nevertheless, the concerned department has shown theft by cutting off the electricity connection and then doing theft from above. The general public of the village is getting crushed in the mess of these two departments.
According to the officials of Mahavitaran, it is necessary for the Gram Panchayat according to the GR to fill the outstanding bill of the water supply scheme. But the matter of tax collection bill being necessary for Mahavitaran is also being said by the Gram Panchayat. The way the concerned Electricity Department has fulfilled the responsibility of giving a strong message to the Gram Panchayat by cutting power. Will the problems of both the departments be solved according to that, will the villagers be able to get tap water soon? Villagers have started making many such speculations.
Which right did the electricity deducted from the tax dues on the MahaVitaran Department itself?
The tax collection bill of Gram Panchayat is due on Mahavitaran Company. But we do not owe even half the amount of the said department to us as much as our bill is on them. Still, disconnecting the electricity of the village’s water supply scheme is like atrocity. Due to which the people of the village have to bear the brunt. Minus your bill by paying ours. We will give such advice to Mahavitaran – A. Of. Sheikh, Village Secretary, Gram Panchayat Asegaon.
