Jan Aushadhi Kendra: Prime Minister Bhartiya Janaushadhi Kendra (PMBJK) is proving to be a great help amid the second wave of COVID-19 going on in the country. While the lockdown due to corona in many states or cities of the country has affected the income of the people, the government has given exemption to the business of medicines. In such a situation where there is no impact on the income of the people running the Jan Aushadhi Kendra, during this lockout, essential medicines and other medical items are being made available to the common people at cheap prices. According to the Union Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers, due to this, the public has saved more than Rs 500 crore in the first one and a half month of the current financial year.
7733 Jan Aushadhi Centers in the country right now
According to the Union Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers, there are 7733 Jan Aushadhi Centers running in different districts of 36 states and union territories of the country at present. Through these, 1449 medicines and 204 surgical and other medical devices are being sold. The N-95 facemask is being sold for just 25 rupees and the sanitizer at a cheaper price. In the last financial year too, the public had saved Rs 4000 crore through Janaushadhi centers. In fact, under PMBJP, the price of any medicine can be up to 80 per cent lower than the branded medicines present in the market.
Thousands of youth are getting employment
The Pradhan Mantri Jan Aushadhi Project has become a means of employment for thousands of people at the present time. Through this, thousands of youth are living in their own city or town and making better income every month. The government is also giving many incentives to an individual to open a Jan Aushadhi Center. Special care is being taken of the profit of the people by opening a government drug store. Its terms and condition are also easy.
Opportunity: 3000 more centers to be opened right now
At present, about 7733 Jan Aushadhi centers are being run in the country. While the government plans to increase it to 10500 in all 734 districts. That is, about 3000 more centers are yet to be opened. In such a situation, it is a better option for the youth searching for employment.
Who and how can open a medical store
If someone opens an indivisual drugstore, then he should have a degree in D Pharma or B Pharma or he has employed a D Pharma or B Pharma degree holder. At the time of applying, he will have to submit proof after taking this degree.
If an organization or NGO wants to open a Jan Aushadhi Center, it is also necessary for it to employ a D Pharma or B Pharma degree holder.
Any eligible NGOs / Charitable Organization Jan Aushadhi Centers can be opened in hospitals too.
How is income
20 percent margin: The guidelines said that 20 percent margin will be given to the shop owners for the sale of the drug at the opening of the public health center. Apart from this, there is also a provision for normal and special incentives.
Normal incentive: As a normal incentive, the government refunds the expenses incurred in opening the drugstore. This includes expenses of up to Rs 1.5 lakh on furniture in the shop and up to 50 thousand rupees in keeping computers and fridges etc. It is refunded up to a maximum of 15 thousand rupees on a monthly basis until the amount of 2 lakhs is completed. It is given 15 percent of the incentive monthly purchase or 15000 whichever is higher.
Special Incentive: It is given to women traders, Divyang, SC, ST at the opening of Jan Aushadhi Kendra. Or to open centers in North East or Naxalite affected areas.
Shop Area: To open it, you must have 120 square feet shop.
