Income Tax E-Filing: The Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) has extended the date of e-filing of Form 15CA and 15CB. The reason for this is the difficulties being faced by the taxpayers on the income tax portal https://incometax.gov.in. The CBDT said in a statement on Tuesday that taxpayers can now submit Form 15CA/15CB in manual format to authorized dealers till August 15.
As per the Income Tax Act, 1961, Form 15CA/15CB has to be submitted electronically. At present, taxpayers have to upload the Chartered Accountant Certificate in Form 15CB along with Form 15CA on the e-filing portal. After which the copy has to be deposited with the authorized dealer.
15th July was the last date
CBDT said that in view of the difficulties being faced by the taxpayers in electronic filing of Income Tax Form 15CA/15CB on the portal www.incometax.gov.in, CBDT had earlier decided that taxpayers should submit Form 15CA/15CB in manual format to the Authorized Dealers. Could submit till 15 July 2021.
CBDT further said that now it has been decided to extend this date to 15 August 2021. Therefore, now taxpayers can submit these forms to the Authorized Dealers in manual format by 15th August 2021.
The CBDT has advised authorized dealers to approve such forms for the purpose of foreign remittances by August 15, 2021. Such forms will be facilitated on the new e-filing portal for uploading at a later date for the purpose of generating Document Identification Number.
