Dearness Allowance Hike News: For the last one year, there is good news for central government employees waiting for dearness allowance. Employees can be revised DA at a higher rate soon. The Finance Ministry has made it clear that the installment of pending dearness allowance of employees will be paid soon. The Finance Ministry said that the dearness allowance of the central employees has been stopped since last year, so in July they will be given 3 installments of dearness allowance. Also, the hold on the DA will also be removed. This information has been given in writing by Rajya Sabha Minister of State for Finance Anurag Thakur.
How much government savings by stopping DA
The central government told the Rajya Sabha in a written reply that the DA of the central employees is pending on 1 January 2020, 1 July 2020 and 1 January 2021. Anurag Thakur informed that the government saved Rs 37,430.09 crore by not paying DA. This fund was used in the fight against the corona virus.
Dearness allowance rates improve!
Till last year, the employees used to get 17 percent dearness allowance. In January 2020, it was decided to increase it by 4 percent. That means the DA till January will be 21 percent. After that, if the DA increased by 4 percent in July 2020 and January 2021, it could increase to 25 percent. However, no announcement has been made about this yet. With this, according to the Seventh Pay Commission, the TA of employees will also increase.
The scope of family pension has also changed
The government has recently increased the family pension limit from Rs 45 thousand to Rs 1.25 lakh in one of its decisions. In fact, the Pension and Pensioners Welfare Department has issued new instructions regarding the pension of the children / siblings of the deceased government employees.
