The opposition rained on the Imran government over the budget (Pakistan Fiscal Year Budget)
Pakistan Fiscal Year Budget: The National Assembly, the lower house of the Pakistani Parliament, has passed the budget for the fiscal year 2021-22. During this, Prime Minister Imran Khan was also present in the house. This budget was debated for 10 days, in which at least 240 leaders participated (Pakistan Budget). Now the opposition parties are making many serious allegations against the Imran government regarding the budget itself. He criticized the passage of the federal budget 2021-22 and termed it as ‘illegal’. Also accused the government of ‘theft of members of parliament’.
Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) President Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said that the process through which the budget has been approved is illegal. Today the ‘right to vote’ of the members has been stolen. Bilawal said, ‘Whatever happened in the National Assembly, people should know about it.’ He said that this session of Parliament has become a very bad example. On the other hand, Information Minister Fawad Chaudhary said that the budget has been passed easily. Chaudhary said that such a huge development budget has never been passed in the history of Pakistan.
‘Imran government is troubling people’
At the same time, Bilawal said that if the budget is so spectacular and the economy is growing, then why are the members of the government hiding? Criticizing the budget, he said that the government is intent on harassing the people. “The government had lost its moral legitimacy and now it has also lost its legal legitimacy,” he said. Another opposition party (Pakistan Opposition) Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) spokesperson Maryam Nawaz demanded the government to remove its tax policy of 1,100 cc vehicles and 5-minute calls.
Maryam Nawaz spoke about tax
Maryam Nawaz said, ‘Imran sahib does not realize the impact of the 5-minute phone call tax.’ This is a bullshit thing. He said that only 37 percent of the country’s population uses smartphones and the rest use other phones, which will be badly affected by the tax. He accused the Imran Khan government of failing to check inflation (increased 16 per cent) and unemployment (increased 15 per cent) (Tax Plan of Imran Government). Maryam said that in the next year’s budget, 67 percent tax has been levied indirectly. 54 members of the PPP were present in the budget session. While 14 out of 84 members of PML-N were present.
