ITR filing updates: If the audit of your firm or business account is necessary and you have not filed the return filing, then know this instruction of the government. The government will no longer extend the last date for filing returns for such taxpayers. February 15 is the last date for filing returns for accounts with audit requirements. The government has rejected the demands in this regard. The Income Tax Department has given information in this regard by tweeting.
The Finance Ministry refused to accept the demand to extend the deadline for filing returns for firms or businesses from February 15, whose accounts are required to be audited. Last month, the government had extended the last date for filing personal income tax returns to 10 January, while the last date for companies was fixed for 15 February.
The Income Tax Department had increased the last date for filing personal income tax returns on 30 December 2020 from 31 December 2020 to 10 January 2021. At the same time, the date of return of audit cases was increased from the earlier 31 January to 15 February. This was the third time the Income Tax Department extended the date.
For taxpayers who have to submit a report in case of international/specific domestic transactions (for which the latest due date for filing ITR was 31 January 2021), the ITR of the assessment year 2020-21 has been extended to 15 February 2021. has been carried out.
