Himachal Pradesh Budget 2022-23: The BJP-ruled Himachal Pradesh government on Friday presented its budget for the next financial year. During this, Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur in his budget speech made many big announcements for different sections of the society, government employees and even state legislators. Although the Chief Minister did not make any announcement regarding the old pension scheme in the budget, due to which there was some disappointment among the government employees of the state.
Pension extended to the elderly
The biggest announcement of the budget speech of Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur was the announcement of increase in pension to the elderly and women. Jai Ram Thakur said that from the next financial year, the elderly in Himachal would now get a monthly pension of Rs 1,700 instead of Rs 1,500. Along with this, the Chief Minister also announced to reduce the age limit of old age pension from 70 years to 60 years. The Chief Minister said that with this 40 thousand more elderly people would get pension in the state.
Pension of women, disabled also increased
Apart from this, Jai Ram Thakur also announced a pension of Rs 1,700 to persons with more than 70 percent disability. Persons with less than 70 percent disability will be given a pension of Rs 11,50. At the same time, the pension amount for widows and single women was increased from Rs 1,000 to Rs 1,150.

The purchase price of milk increased by Rs 2
Talking about other big announcements of Himachal government, the government has announced to increase the purchase price of milk by Rs. It is expected to benefit the farmers rearing cows and buffaloes. The government has made a provision of spending Rs 583 crore on the agriculture sector in a separate budget year.
MLA fund increased to Rs 2 crore
Making a big announcement for the MLAs of the state in the budget, Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur increased the amount of MLA Area Development Fund to Rs 2 crore. Apart from this, he announced to include ropeway in the MLA fund, whereas till now the MLAs were allowed to spend only on drinking water, irrigation, sewerage, roads and bridges from their funds.
Women will get three free cylinders
Making a big announcement for the economically weaker and rural women, Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur announced to give free LPG cylinders to them thrice a year. Apart from this, the Chief Minister also announced to start Mukhyamantri Bal Poshan Yojana to free children from malnutrition. 65 crores will be spent on this scheme. Apart from this, it has also been announced to construct 1000 new Anganwadi buildings in the state with an amount of Rs.32 crore.

Honorarium from village head to district panchayat president increased
The Himachal government also announced to increase the honorarium of Panchayat members. The government told that now the Zilla Parishad President will now get Rs 10,000 for each meeting, 6000 to the Zilla Parishad member, 9000 to the Panchayat Samiti President, 6550 to the Vice President of the Panchayat Samiti, 5550 to the Panchayat Samiti member, Rs 5550 to the Gram Pradhan Panchayat, Up Village The Pradhan Panchayat will get an honorarium of Rs 3500 and the Gram Panchayat member will now get Rs 300 per meeting.
increased honorarium to employees
During the budget, the Himachal government announced to increase the honorarium of various employees. The government said that Anganwadi workers will now get an honorarium of Rs 9000 per month. Mini Anganwadi workers Rs 6100 per month, Anganwadi helpers Rs 4700 per month, ASHA workers Rs 4700 per month, Sewing teachers Rs 7950 per month, Mid Day Meal workers Rs 3500 per month, Water Career Education Department Rs 3900, Water Guard Rs 4500 per month Monthly, Jalshakti multi purpose workers will get an honorarium of Rs 3900, para fitters and pump operators will get an honorarium of Rs 5550. Apart from this, the outsourcer will now get a minimum of 10500 per month.
Government will give 30 thousand jobs
Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur announced to give 30 thousand new jobs in the next financial year. He said that the recruitment would be done for various vacant government posts in the state government. At the same time, he announced a scholarship of Rs 1500 to the children of martyrs and disabled soldiers of the armed forces.
