Mumbai: Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister and Finance Minister Ajit Pawar presented the budget for the year 2022-23 for the state in the assembly. In this budget, he has decided to focus on increasing human resources in addition to industry, transport, women, health, agriculture, hitting the punch. Experts say that in the coming days, Ajit Pawar has tried to give big relief to these five important parts of the society in view of the local elections of many other municipal corporations including Mumbai, Pune and Thane.
Under this, Pawar, taking a big decision for the people associated with the transport sector, has reduced the VAT on CNG from 13.5 percent to 3 percent. This decision will reduce the revenue of the government by about Rs 800 crore. The move will benefit the common commercial vehicle drivers such as auto rickshaw and taxi drivers who use CNG as well as those middle class households who use CNG in their vehicles.
Big relief to small and medium traders
Finance Minister Pawar has given a big relief to small and medium-sized traders regarding VAT disputes, ending the fight against GST. For this, a big offer has been made to the business class under the Maharashtra Settlement of Arrears of Tax and Penalty ie Late Fee Scheme 2022. The duration of this scheme will start from 1st April to 30th September. It is clear that during this time elections for many other urban municipal corporations including Mumbai, Pune and Thane will be held. In such a situation, with this decision, Pawar has tried to pull the small and medium business class towards the government, so that the Aghadi parties can get their support in the local elections. Under this scheme, a decision has been taken to waive off the VAT dispute of 10 thousand. This will give relief to about one lakh small traders. On the other hand, disputes up to Rs 10 lakh can be settled by depositing only Rs 2 lakh. About 2.5 lakh medium traders will benefit from this decision.
