Information is given about the process of supply
The ministry has said that the vaccine will be supplied at selected points in 19 states and union territories. These include Andhra Pradesh, Assam, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Delhi, Gujarat, Haryana, Jharkhand, Karnataka, Kerala, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Odisha, Punjab, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Uttar Pradesh and West Bengal. The remaining 18 states and union territories will be able to get the vaccine from their respective government medical store depots.
It has been said in the letter that further distribution of the vaccine to the districts will be according to the registered beneficiaries, for which a separate notice will be given soon. The country’s drug regulator on Sunday approved the covaxield of Oxford-AstraZeneca and Covaxin of the India-developed Bharat Biotech for emergency use. The Union Health Ministry said on Tuesday that vaccination of COVID-19 is expected to begin on January 13. But the government will take a final decision on the date.
Preparation in its last phase
India has developed Co-WIN software for real-time monitoring of vaccine stocks. In this, the temperature of storage and the beneficiaries of the COVID-19 vaccine can also be tracked. Except for Haryana and Uttar Pradesh, the second round of dry runs will be held on 8 January in all districts of all states and union territories. The ministry said in a statement that the central government is preparing to bring the COVID-19 vaccine across the country. The Union Health Ministry is actively preparing for the introduction of the COVID-19 vaccine. In this, she is taking the support of states, union territories and all stakeholders. In the last few months, it has been ensured that preparations are on track.
