The accused defrauded about Rs 4.68 crore. Sonegaon Police has registered a case on the complaint of Santosh Ambadas Londe (48), resident of Chetak Apartment, Dronacharyanagar.
Among the accused are Mohammad Habib Mohammad Hanif (39), resident of Gulshan-e-Arfan Colony, Karnataka, Mohammad Abbas Mohammad Yusuf (34), Mohammad Begum Junaidi (27), Ahmed Sheikh (27) and Burhan Sheikh (26), resident of Ahmedgarh, Punjab. is included. The accused are the directors and office bearers of the Corbit coin firm. In March 2021, the accused organized conferences in well-known hotels of the city. In this, people were lured to earn huge profits by investing money in cryptocurrencies.
7 people including Londe invested Rs 6.58 crore at the behest of the accused. The accused also returned the money to the investors for a few months to gain confidence. Distributed the payment of about Rs 1.89 crore. After this the investors stopped getting profits in the form of interest.
