Elated over her choice in civil providers examination, Gamini Singla, who bagged the third rank, on Monday stated girls are able to attaining something by their exhausting work and dedication.
Shruti Sharma, Ankita Agarwal and Singla have secured the primary, second and third ranks respectively within the examination, the outcomes of which had been introduced by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC).
“I am really happy. It is like a dream come true. I have opted for Indian Administrative Service (IAS) and would like to work for the development of the country and welfare of people,” Singla informed PTI over the cellphone from Anandpur Sahib in Punjab.
Singla, who cleared the examination in her second try, stated she primarily did “self-study” and credited her father for her success.
“I used to study for 9-10 hours a day. I took coaching from Vinod sir in Patiala. Mostly I did self-study preparing for the examination, and finally I got through. My father played an important role in helping me prepare for the exam,” she stated.
Singla’s dad and mom are medical officers working with the Himachal Pradesh authorities.
Asked about girls bagging prime three ranks within the examination, she stated, “This shows women are capable of achieving anything through their hard work and dedication”.
Singla, a Bachelor of Technology (BTech) in pc science, had sociology as her non-compulsory topic.
A complete of 685 candidates – 508 males and 177 girls – have certified within the examination and their names had been really useful by the Commission for appointment to varied central providers, the UPSC stated.
