Gujarat authorities said on Wednesday that lecturers and professors of state-run and grant-in-aid schools and universities in Gujarat will now not be required to clear Course on Computer Concepts (CCC+) and exams in Gujarati or Hindi language to get the promotion.
The determination has been taken by Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel in view of representations made by varied unions of school and college lecturers, mentioned Gujarat Education Minister Jitu Vaghani.
However, the exemption applies to solely those that are eligible to get a promotion below CAS on or earlier than December 2022. Those getting eligible for promotion below CAS after January 1, 2023, shall be required to go the mentioned exams, the minister added.
According to Vaghani, this determination will profit about 3,500 faculty and college lecturers.
In February 2019, the Gujarat authorities issued a Government Resolution (GR) stating that lecturers and professors must clear CCC+ in addition to Hindi or Gujarati language exams for promotion and better pay as per the Career Advancement Scheme (CAS) below the seventh Pay Commission pay scales relevant within the state.
Now, the state authorities has determined to take away that situation from the GR and restart the method of granting promotion, mentioned Vaghani, including that a number of lecturers and professors had been awaiting promotion for the final six years.
CCC+ is a certificate-level course meant to impart fundamental stage laptop literacy to the federal government workforce.
