The authorities goals to make efforts to incorporate agriculture as a part of the college curriculum beneath the National Education Policy (NEP 2020), agriculture minister Narendra Singh Tomar mentioned on Tuesday in a session organised by Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR).
According to the minister, agriculture is the precedence and energy of the Indian financial system, which acts because the spine in adversarial circumstances. He emphasised on mainstreaming agricultural training beneath the NEP 2020.
The session mentioned the event of coverage and pathway to introduce agriculture as a topic in course curriculum and supply choices for college students to discover a profession within the numerous arenas of the farm sector.
“The NEP-2020 will enable the overall development of school students besides just providing them with bookish knowledge. It will also equip the students to convert the knowledge to action,” Anita Nuna, professor, head of division, National Council of Education Research and Training, mentioned.
ICAR director common Trilocan Mohapatra, ICAR deputy director common (Education) R C Agrawal and Association of India Universities common secretary Pankaj Mittal have been current within the session.
Experts from the ICAR, NCERT, CBSE together with numerous faculty principals and academics participated and deliberated on the necessity and course of for the introduction of agriculture as a topic at school curriculum.
