The Digital University Kerala (DUK) has partnered with United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) and World Health Organization (WHO) to organise a two-week data workshop on ‘Integration of Digital Technologies in Disaster Preparedness’. The workshop is scheduled to happen between May 16 and May 27, 2022.
The collaboration goals to deal with the lack of know-how and absence of requisite abilities that hinder the broad utility of digital applied sciences in combating disasters.
The workshop is a part of an ongoing collaboration of Sinnu Susan Thomas, assistant professor, Digital University Kerala and Edilson Okay. Arruda, lecturer, University of Southampton, UK funded by the British Council’s ‘Going Global Partnerships Exploratory Grant’, a DUK assertion stated.
The workshop is aimed toward creating capability constructing for presidency officers, college students and anybody who’s taken with the usage of trendy applied sciences in catastrophe administration.
According to DUK, Major domains of dialogue within the workshop goals to incorporate matters on studying aiding response and restoration, visible perspective of disasters, robots and drones to the rescue, emergency networking by way of trial and error, catastrophe administration and associated challenges amongst others.
