What is Nifty Next 50 and how is it different from Nifty 50? Understand its importance here

In the Nifty Next 50, 51-100 companies are included in the top 100 companies listed on the National Stock Exchange (NSE).

Nifty Next 50: When it comes to domestic indices, mostly BSE Sensex and NSE Nifty 50 are discussed. The health of the market is estimated by their rise or fall. Another similar index is Nifty Next 50.

The top 50 companies listed on the National Stock Exchange (NSE) are included in the Nifty 50 and after that the companies from the 51st position to the 100th ranking are included in the Nifty Next 50. To be included in both these indexes of Nifty, the average daily turnover and daily full market capitalization data of the last six months are taken into account. Given below is the list of companies which are included in Nifty Next 50. That is, by combining both, the list of top 100 companies of NSE is prepared.

Understand what is Nifty Next 50 with the example of Yes Bank

It was ousted from the Sensex in December 2019 after the financial condition of the private sector Yes Bank deteriorated. After this, on 27 March 2020 last year, it was also excluded from the Nifty50 index. In place of Yes Bank, Shricement got a place in Nifty50. Later, Yes Bank was included in Nifty Next 50 with effect from 31 March 2021, indicating that the position of Yes Bank is improving. Obviously, this index tells investors which are the next 50 best performing companies after the top 50 companies of NSE listed in Nifty 50.
