Serum Institute of India (SII) head Adar Poonawalla has bought 20 per cent stake in short video sharing platform Wakau Interactive. Wakau Interactive is a subsidiary of digital entertainment and technology company JetSynthesys. Although how much this deal happened, it has not been disclosed.
Amitabh Bachchan has also invested in Wakau
Wakau is a short video sharing platform where short videos related to entertainment and fashion are shared. The special thing is that this platform offers video commerce. Apart from Adar Poonawalla, Bollywood actor Amitabh Bachchan has also invested in Wakau. This platform was launched in 2015 by Amitabh.

Wakau has a library of over 4 million user-created videos and songs
Wakau has a library of more than 4 lakh videos and songs created by users. The songs library has more than 10,000 songs, with the help of which users can create short videos. According to Wakau, there are more than one million users on its platform. More than 5,000 videos are uploaded to its platform every day.
Poonawalla said on the occasion, “Short video is a new format for presenting content. Short videos related to entertainment and fashion are becoming increasingly popular. Wakau has made it easy, creative, and interesting for users to create and deliver such videos through its artificial intelligence-based technology.” Said Rajan Navani, Vice Chairman and Managing Director, JetSynthesys, on short video sharing social media platforms. It is getting tremendous support from users since last few years.
