new Delhi: Tata Technologies will hire at least 1,000 additional people over the plan in the current financial year 2022-23 to meet the needs of the customers. However, the company plans to hire over 3,000 innovators over a period of 12 months. A top official of the company gave this information.
In January, the global engineering and product development digital services company announced plans to recruit more than 3,000 innovators over a 12-month period as part of its expanded talent recruitment program. Under this, the company had planned to increase its workforce in all the major markets of the world, besides in many states of the country such as Maharashtra, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu.
Tata Technologies Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Warren Harris told PTI, “It points to the fact that we are not missing out on opportunities. We’re in a supply-side crunch, so the investments we’re making are leaning toward building capacity and sort of capacity.
He said that how successful the company has been in this area can be gauged from the fact that in the third quarter of the current financial year, we have recruited 1,500 people. So the commitment of 3,000 is somewhat less… We will be hiring more than 3,000 people in FY 2022-23.
When asked how much the hiring would be, Harris said, “With respect to above 3,000, we’re working out a business plan for next year. But I am hopeful that we will appoint at least 1,000 more on the 3,000. Tata Technologies is growing rapidly due to investments in Autonomous, Connected, Electrification and Shared (ACES) mobility and digital, as manufacturing companies strive to meet new customer needs. The company has reported operating income of Rs 1,034.1 crore and profit before tax of Rs 201.2 crore for the third quarter of the current financial year ended December 31, 2021, its best quarterly performance.
