Reliance Jio, a telecom subsidiary of Reliance Industries Limited (RIL), is planning to launch a 5G smartphone priced below Rs 5,000. When its demand increases, the price will be reduced gradually from 2500 to 3000 rupees per unit. An official of the company has given this information.
The company is eyeing 2G users
Reliance Jio official said that the company is currently eyeing 2 to 30 crore users using 2G. Initially, there is a plan to bring a 5G smartphone at a price below 5 thousand rupees. When sales increase, its price will be reduced to a price range of 2500 to 3000 rupees per unit. However, Reliance Jio has not given any official response in this regard. Currently, the price range of 5G smartphones in India starts at Rs 27 thousand.
Jio introduced the country’s first 4G mobile phone
Reliance Jio is the first 4G mobile phone company in the country to launch. This mobile phone was named Jio Phone. This phone was given free to the Jio customer on refundable deposit of Rs. 1500. At the 43rd AGM, RIL Chairman and Managing Director Mukesh Ambani called for India to make 2G free.

No 5G services in the country right now
There are no 5G services in the country yet. The government has not yet allotted 5G spectrum for field trials to any telecom operator. However, the trial is expected to begin in the current financial year. People associated with the industry believe that commercial operations of 5G services can start in the country from next financial year.
