Smart Tejas coaches will be installed in Rajdhani trains
Indian Railways has recently replaced the Mumbai-New Delhi Rajdhani Express with smart sleeper coaches of Tejas. For the first time, they are being run on the Agartala-Anand Vihar route. Railways plans to upgrade all Rajdhani Express running with LHB coaches to Tejas coaches in a phased manner. The Ministry of Railways has taken this decision to give more convenience to the passengers and technological advancement of the Railways.
In this regard, a statement from the Ministry of Railways said, “With the use of Tejas smart coaches, Indian Railways aims to make the future better. This modern Tejas sleeper type train for long distance travel has been introduced to enhance the travel experience.”
Indian Railways is taking important steps for induction of Tejas rakes along with privatization initiatives. Rajdhani Express will now be able to offer higher standards of travel services even to those sections which are not being provided better facilities by the airline industry.
Benefits of privatization
The induction of Tejas coaches will attract a larger passenger segment. Adoption of Tejas rake will invite more PPP participation and investment. Railways are hoping that by developing it in the right way, they can give a tough competition to the airline industry in future.
