Due to this rising crude oil prices
OPEC+ had decided to cut production last year in 2020 due to lack of demand during the Corona epidemic. Although now the global economy is getting back on track, but production has not reached the previous level. In the meeting of OPEC + on Monday, it was announced to restore production cuts in a phased manner. On the other hand, due to the increase in natural gas prices, some Asian countries are advising power companies to switch to oil-fired plants instead of natural gas, which is strengthening crude oil prices.
India imports a large part of its requirement of crude oil and the effect of rising prices at the global level is visible here in the form of expensive oil. Today, the price of WTI crude is $ 77.92 (Rs 5810.07) per barrel (1 oil barrel = 159 liters) and Brent crude is at $ 81.66 (Rs 6088.94) per barrel. However, a major part of the prices of petrol and diesel in India is in the form of taxes.
