Oil marketing companies increased the price of petrol again on Wednesday (7th July 2021). Therefore, the price of petrol in Delhi has crossed Rs 100 per liter. Petrol in Delhi was sold on Wednesday at Rs 100.21. This is 35 paise more than Tuesday’s price. The price of diesel also increased by 17 paise to Rs 89.53 per liter. Petrol and diesel prices have increased 35 times since May 4. The Congress has strongly criticized the government for this increase in petrol prices. Congress spokesperson, Randeep Singh Surjewala has said that petrol prices have crossed Rs 100 in 200 cities of the country. In this way, the Modi government has kept Rs 25 lakh crore in its pocket. The government is thinking of the capitalists and hurting the common people.
Petrol and diesel prices have increased four times this month
In this month alone, their prices have increased four times. The price of petrol in Delhi has increased by Rs 9.52 while the price of diesel has increased by Rs 9.65 since the time the prices started increasing. BPCL, HPCL and IndianOil fix daily prices based on international benchmark prices and foreign exchange exchange rates.
The cost of petrol and diesel is highest in Mumbai. Here petrol is being sold at the rate of Rs 106.25 per liter. Whereas the price of diesel is Rs 97.09 per liter. The difference in the prices of petrol and diesel in Delhi and Mumbai is due to the difference in tax and VAT levied at both the places. Petrol is being sold above Rs 100 per liter in Delhi, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Karnataka, Jammu and Kashmir, Odisha, Tamil Nadu, Ladakh.
