After the tussle with Google, Paytm has launched its Android Mini App Store. After being briefly removed from the Google Play store a few days ago, Paytm had expressed its displeasure with Google’s policies and said that they were discriminatory. Paytm has said in a blog post that Mini App Store is meant to support Indian developers so that they can take their innovative products to the masses at large.
Mini apps are custom-built mobile websites, which give users an app-like experience without downloading. This saves data and phone memory. Paytm said that we are providing the listing and distribution of these mini-apps in our app without any charge. For payment, developers will be able to give their users options of Paytm Wallet, Paytm Payments Bank, UPI, Net Banking and Card.

Paytm says that our mini app store gives direct access to discover, browse and pay without downloading or installing apps. More than 300 app-based service providers such as Decathlon, Ola, Park +, Rapido, Netmeds, 1MG, Domino’s Pizza, FreshMenu, Nobroker etc. have joined the Mini App Store. The App Store was running in beta version with select users till date and received more than 12 million visits in September.
