Festive sales of e-commerce companies have been announced in view of the festive season. Flipkart sale starts from October 16 and Amazon sale starts from October 17. Bumper offers are offered in these festive sales that come every year, due to which clothes, gadgets and appliances can be purchased at cheap prices. But it is important to know the terms and conditions related to them before making a quick purchase by looking at the attractive offers. So that online shopping does not hurt.
While shopping online, definitely check whether the website from where you are shopping today gives the option of product returns and refunds. If there is a return policy, then read its terms and conditions carefully, within how many days the product can be returned, is there any condition for returning the product, etc. Apart from this, also check that after taking the option of return, someone will come to your house from the e-commerce website or product manufacturing company or you will have to send it to the product company.
There have been cases when a person from the e-commerce company did not come to the customer’s home to take a product under a return policy with a product purchase, but the customer had to courier the product company. Under such condition, the e-commerce company has no role in the product return, as well as the expenses incurred in sending the customer to the product company.
Many times, on returning the product, instead of being refunded, there is a condition of buying another product of the same amount. So while shopping, definitely check this point.
When purchasing expensive products, we often resort to EMI. It should be noted that the purchase of a product in EMI is usually costlier than lump sum payment. While taking payment option in EMI from credit card/debit card, be sure to note how much interest rate will apply. Also, it will be beneficial to convert the payment amount to EMI at the time of purchase or later. Also, know the terms related to the EMI of the bank or company associated with the card concerned.
On e-commerce websites, it is mentioned that the color of the actual product may be slightly different from the product being shown. So, keep this in mind, especially in the case of clothes.
While making the payment after purchase, consider the delivery charge if it is the same or whether it was given at the time of selecting the product. Sometimes there is a condition on e-commerce that the delivery charge is waived for purchases up to a certain amount. In such a situation, if you are purchasing up to that certain amount, then check the delivery charge.
Discount, Guarantee, Warranty
While shopping, know the terms and conditions related to discount and guarantee-warranty. Whether the discount is instant, the cashback is flat or up to a certain amount, the discount/cashback will be available on purchases up to a certain amount or on any purchase up to an amount, the cashback will be received in the form of money or as a coupon/refund point, if If there is a cashback in the money, then where will be the credit, for violating the conditions, such as will not be entitled to discount / cashback such as product return or order cancellation etc.
Very cheap product refurbished somewhere
Many times an expensive product looks very cheap to us online. In such a situation, we think of buying it immediately without delay. But stay here and check whether the product is brand new or refurbished. Refurbished product refers to the used product, which, after being returned to the company, is again offered for sale in a new avatar.
Before taking an instant product from anyone website, find out the price and other things of that product on another e-commerce website or offline store as well. It may be that the product is getting cheaper elsewhere or there are more options available in it. If there is a bundled product, ie, two or three things are being found in the same package and in other places, it is cheaper, then check that there is something less in the bundle.
