ASSAR has developed applications for technology and healthcare companies around the world that provide technology, products and services (TPS) for instant testing of COVID-19.
You will get reliable results in 60 seconds.
Amid growing concern over the third wave of COVID-19 and the Indian Medical Association (IMA) being alerted to this expected wave, India’s leading emerging technology prototyping agency, the Advanced Services for Social and Administrative Reforms (ASSAR), has launched a new program of technology and administrative reforms across the world. Applications have been opened for healthcare companies that provide technology, products and services (TPS) for instant testing of COVID-19. This will give reliable results in 60 seconds.
Announcing the introduction of this test technology to test commercial pilots, the company has said that it will start from Delhi and Mumbai where a good number of pilots coming from outside are expected to be found. Under the pilot scheme, international pilots coming to the country will be started from two major points – Delhi and Mumbai. Most foreign travelers come to these two places, so these two points are most likely to enter different variations of COVID virus in India. Hence, from here onwards, the prototype will be expanded to 12 more test venues and will be in coordination with the state governments. Its purpose is to make air travel safe for passengers within the country and internationally. All this will happen before the expected third wave and the next lock down that may happen in the future.
ASSAR opened the application for this pilot on July 10 as part of its ‘Ease of Doing Business’ program and is currently in the process of liaising with competent institutions through the screening process. All this has to be done by July 25. After this, the selected companies will start the work of logistics and financial planning to implement it by the agency in August 2021.
Talking about the urgency and need of the project, Lead Technocrat Mr. Abhijeet Sinha, National Program Director, Ease of Doing Business Division, ASSAR said, “The last 16 months have seen a lot of damage and it is not even measurable. The second wave of COVID has caused huge damage and the country is in no way prepared to bear another socio-economic burden. With such technology of testing, we are already trying to take such steps so that the country does not have to face another lock down with the expected wave. The same is the case with public and private sector operations and they cannot be left out. With this pilot, we will be able to provide cost-effective, instantaneous testing in the event of such a need.”
He further said, “All sectors and all types of work or business cannot be done effectively from home. Especially those who are related to national security, research construction, development sector etc. With these pilots, our effort is to bring the country’s socio-economic recovery back on track.” Many stakeholders from different agencies and institutions will come together under the announced COVID Tech Pilot. The main aspect of this project lies in its initial eligibility conditions and that is, the only technology whose results will be available immediately i.e. within 60 seconds and which can detect the emerging mutations and variants of the COVID-19 virus can participate in this application process. Huh.
Now is not enough time that the country should wait for years for research and then the vaccine or technology is ready. Unlike the polio vaccine, which took years to reach India and then decades to reach remote populations. The COVID-19 vaccine and testing technology has to grow and will have to be accessible in real time. Transfer of technology and information has to happen on a global scale in a few seconds. All this has to happen in the true sense to be able to deal with this global crisis.
Ease of Doing Business (Dot IN) is ASSI’s program to organize budding tech pilots with the help of the government. Since 2016 it has been contributing to the vision of our Prime Minister Narendra Modi in different fields and it works beyond the barrier of adoption. And thus providing a real facilitator of technological advancement under Strategic Entrepreneurship through Prototype Project or Standalone Pilot for rapid expansion and commercialization in India.
