Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari has announced himself as the brand ambassador of Khadi Prakritik Paint. He said that he would promote it all over the country. He said that this will improve the agriculture based economy.

MSME Minister Nitin Gadkari on Tuesday said that he will be the brand ambassador of Khadi Prakritik Paint and will promote it across the country to encourage young entrepreneurs to manufacture paints from cow dung. Inaugurating the new automatic manufacturing unit of Khadi Natural Paint ‘online’ in Jaipur, he said that it will prove to be important in empowering rural and agro based economy in the country.
The ministry said in a statement that this is the first paint manufacturing plant in the country to be made from cow dung. “Inauguration of infrastructure projects worth lakhs of crores of rupees is not as pleasant and satisfying as inaugurating this manufacturing unit,” Gadkari was quoted as saying in the statement. There is huge potential for sustainable development for the benefit of the poor and we should aim to set up at least one natural paint unit in every village.

production capacity will be doubled
The new plant has been set up at the Kumarappa National Institute of Handmade Papers (KNHPI), Jaipur, a unit of Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC). With the commissioning of the new manufacturing unit, the production capacity of natural paints will be doubled. Presently, the daily production of natural paint is 500 liters, which will be increased to 1,000 liters per day. Khadi and Village Industries Commission Chairman Vinay Kumar Saxena said that the new plant is equipped with modern technology and machinery, which will also ensure the highest standards of product in terms of quality and uniformity.
Will help in increasing the income of farmers
He said that this paint project has been started with the twin objectives of increasing the income of farmers and creating self-employment in the country. According to the statement, “This paint is available in two varieties – distemper and emulsion. It includes ‘Ashtalabha’ i.e. eight benefits. Such as anti-viral, anti-mildew and natural thermal insulation properties. This paint is eco-friendly, odorless and cheap too.
