The TV broadcasting rights and digital rights have been offered for a cumulative worth of Rs 44,057 crore, as per trade sources. It is believed that Package A (TV rights) and Package B (digital rights) have been bagged by two totally different media corporations, names of whom are but to be revealed. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) commenced the e-auction of Indian Premier League (IPL) media rights on Sunday.
The Package A which consisted of TV broadcast rights within the Indian subcontinent had a base worth of Rs 49 crore per recreation. This base worth is believed to have gone as much as Rs 57.5 per recreation. Similarly, Package B, which entailed, digital rights was set at a base worth of Rs 33 crore per recreation, has already clocked a 47.9% rise to face at Rs 50 crore per recreation. It is known that on the finish of day one, TV broadcast rights stood at Rs 23,575 crore whereas digital rights have been price Rs 20,500 crore for 5 years.
It is known that Package C is price Rs 1,700 crore on the finish of day two. The bundle had a base worth of Rs 1,440 crore, therefore, the value has elevated by 18.05%.
It is to be famous that the knowledge has not been formally confirmed by the BCCI.
Further, the bid for Package D (International rights) will resume tomorrow together with continuation of Package C. To give perspective, Package C has been launched for the primary time and provides solely 18 video games with non-exclusive rights. This bundle is about at Rs 16 crore per recreation, amounting to Rs 288 crore per 12 months and Rs 1,440 crore for 5 years. Package D, however, is worldwide broadcasting rights which comes at a base worth of Rs three crore per recreation with the mixed worth coming to Rs 1,110 crore for 5 years.
