Fake Currency The Reserve Bank of India continues to warn citizens about this. In such a situation, it is important for you to know whether the note lying in your purse is real or fake. Actually, a strange claim is being made on social media about the new 500 note. It is being said that the 500 rupee note is fake in which the green strip is near the photo of Gandhiji. According to the claim, the same 500 note is genuine, in which the green stripe is with the RBI Governor’s signature. Along with this it has also been written that this message should reach as many people as possible.
The team of PIB Fack Check tried to know the reality regarding this claim being made on social media. This claim has been found to be fake in #PIBFactCheck. It has also been said that according to the Reserve Bank, both types of notes are genuine. In such a situation, if someone tries to trick you by showing you a green strip, then do not be misled by him.

To identify whether the 500 note is genuine or fake, it is necessary to know what are the conditions of the original note. Every note of Mahatma Gandhi New Series bears the signature of the Governor of Reserve Bank of India. On the back side there is a picture of the Red Fort. The color of the note is stone gray. The size of this note is 66 mm × 150 mm.

Apart from this, if you look closely, some other sign is visible. If you look at the side of the light, you will get 500 written. 500 is also written in Devanagari. The Governor’s signature, guarantee clause, promise clause and RBI logo have shifted to the right side as compared to the old note. There is a picture of Mahatma Gandhi here and there is also an electrotype watermark.
