Bajaj Auto sales registered a huge growth of 24 percent in the June quarter. Domestic sales have registered a growth of seven per cent, while there has been a bumper jump of 45 per cent in exports.

Bajaj Auto sales: Bajaj Auto said on Thursday that its sales in June 2021 increased by 24 percent to 3,46,136 units. The company had sold 2,78,097 units in the same month a year ago. Bajaj Auto told the stock market that its domestic sales stood at 1,61,836 units in June this year as against 1,51,189 units in the same period a year ago, thus registering a seven per cent increase in domestic sales.
The company said that exports grew by 45 per cent to 1,84,300 units in June, from 1,26,908 units in the same month a year ago. Farm equipment maker Escorts Agri Machinery (EAM) on Thursday said tractor sales stood at 12,533 units in June, up from 10,851 tractors sold in the same month a year ago. MG Motor India said that it had retail sales of 3,558 units in June. The company had sold 1,867 units in the same month last year.
Chetak will start meeting again in the market in this quarter
Here Bajaj Auto expects that it will start sending its electric scooter ‘Chetak’ in the market in the second quarter of the current financial year. This was stated in the company’s annual report for 2021-22. The company had stopped booking of Chetak in April this year. Bajaj Auto has reintroduced its old popular scooter brand Chetak in an electric avatar. This electric scooter is available in two models – Chetak Premium and Chetak Urban.

Rahul Bajaj, former chairman of Bajaj Auto, said in his last address to shareholders, “When bookings for Chetak were first started in early 2020, it had to be stopped due to supply chain constraints associated with COVID-19. Thereafter your company resumed online booking on April 13, 2021, but had to be stopped after 48 hours due to overwhelming response.
Hi-tech lithium battery will be installed
The company said in this report that it ‘expects to start deliveries of this popular model in the second quarter of the financial year 2021-22.’ The company said that the Chetak is fitted with an ‘IP67’ rated Hi-Tech Lithium Ion battery which can be easily charged from a standard five amp electrical outlet. Once the battery is fully charged, the scooter can travel up to 95 km in ‘Eco Mode’. The new Chetak is being manufactured at its Chakan facility in Pune.
