FDI In April: A 38 percent jump was registered in FDI coming into India in April. Karnataka has the highest FDI on a state-wise basis. Karnataka got 31 per cent of the total FDI.
FDI equity registered an increase of 60 percent.
FDI in India: The trust of investors from all over the world towards the Indian market is getting stronger. The total foreign direct investment (FDI in April) coming into the country in April 2021 was $ 6.24 billion. This is 38 percent more than in April 2020. In April 2020, total FDI of $ 4.53 billion came into the country.
Talking about FDI equity i.e. FDI in the stock market, it registered an increase of 60 percent on an annual basis. In April 2021, this figure stood at $ 4.44 billion, which was $ 2.77 billion in April 2020. Sharing this information, the Ministry of Commerce said that the policy regarding FDI has been improved. Apart from this, it has gained momentum due to changes in the rules of ease of doing business and investment.
There was a fall in FDI in March
In March 2021, there was a decline in FDI on an annual basis. Total FDI stood at $2.87 billion in March this year as against $4.27 billion in the same period last year. In February also, there was a decline in foreign direct investment. Total FDI stood at $2.58 billion in February 2021 as compared to $3.36 billion in the same period last year. Talking about the full financial year, the total FDI in 2020-21 was $ 81.72 billion. It has registered a growth of 10 percent on a yearly basis.
Highest FDI from Mauritius
According to the information shared by the Ministry of Commerce, in April 2021, the maximum FDI came from Mauritius. Its contribution to the total FDI was 24 per cent. It was followed by Singapore with 21 per cent and Japan at number three. Japan’s contribution was 11 per cent of the total FDI.
Highest FDI in computer software and hardware
According to the report, maximum FDI has come in computer software and hardware. 24 per cent of FDI equity had come into this sector. After that there has been 23 percent FDI in the service sector and 8 percent in the education sector.
Karnataka got the highest FDI
Karnataka has the highest FDI on a state-wise basis. Karnataka got 31 per cent of the total FDI. After that Maharashtra got 19 percent and Delhi got 15 percent. According to the trend, foreign investors are showing more interest towards startups.
