E-Commerce Democracy Day: The Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT), an organization of traders in the country, presented the banners of representatives of major e-commerce companies (e-commerce companies) in front of the Department of Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT). Have expressed strong opposition to the meeting under it. E-commerce companies trying to establish monopoly- CAT described the meeting of the Indian representatives of Amazon and Flipkart under the banner of the Chambers of Commerce and Industry, similar to the ‘wolf in sheep’s vest’. CAT says that the arbitrary attitude of these foreign funded e-commerce companies should be controlled as soon as possible. These companies are trying to monopolize not only e-commerce but also domestic business through institutions like CloudTel.
CAT against FDI in e-commerce
In the case of e-commerce companies, CAT has been opening fronts against these companies for a long time on the issue of Foreign Direct Investment (FDI). On March 19, DPIIT had asked these companies to give their views on the issue of FDI in the e-commerce sector in the country.
An officer of leading e-commerce company Amazon reached the meeting under the banner of FICCI. However, the Board of Industries later clarified that the representative represented only a part of its e-commerce members.
CAT has asked the government to remove all the flaws in its press note-2 in relation to FDI and issue a new press note. Kat has said that he will do an e-mail satyagraha for this across the country.
CAT will celebrate ‘e-Commerce Democracy Day’ on 25 March
CAT National President BC Bhartia and National General Secretary Praveen Khandelwal have announced that on March 25, more than 40 thousand small and big trade organizations will be celebrated as ‘E-commerce Democracy Day’ across the country. After this, on March 28, traders will burn Holika of Amazon and Flipkart and take out their anger.
