BSNL New Offer: Government-run telecom regulator Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has announced a new offer, which will benefit customers working in the government sector. According to several reports, the company will give a flat 10 percent discount to all public sector employees in the country. It is on select services including landline, broadband internet and fiber to home internet plans. The government-run telecom company has been facing problems for many years and recent decisions can improve the situation.
Offer expected in February
The company’s 10 percent discount offer is expected to start in February. All government sector employees will be able to avail 10% extra discount on the recharge price of landline, broadband and fiber to home internet plans. This latest step will not only help the company to retain its current customers, but it will also be able to attract new government employees.
It is worth noting that the company already offers a flat discount of 5 per cent on the bills in the name of public sector employees. However, the decision to increase the discount to 10 per cent will make the company’s offers more attractive and will also save a lot of customers. At present, this step in the big battle over the prices going on in the telecom sector can help the company to improve its market position and get out of recurring losses.

BSNL and MTNL compulsory for government offices
The telecom department had earlier directed all government departments and offices in the country to compulsorily avail landline, leased line or broadband internet services offered by government-run operators BSNL and MTNL. This move made it necessary for all government departments to choose services from government companies and also prevented them from availing services provided by other private companies.
