BSNL Chairman and Managing Director PK Purwar says that state-owned telecom company BSNL is confident of maintaining its hold with 4G services starting in the coming months.
Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) expects revenue of Rs 17,000 crore from services in the financial year 2021-22, which is lower than the previous financial year. BSNL Chairman and Managing Director PK Purwar gave this information on Sunday. He said that this reduction in revenue will be mainly due to the removal of call connect charges.

4G is expected
Meanwhile, Purwar asserted that state-owned telecom company BSNL is confident of maintaining its customer base and retaining its grip on 4G services that will be launched in the coming months. He believes that this will happen despite intensifying competition from private telecom companies for 5G services.
He said that the introduction of 5G service by private operators will not hurt BSNL immediately, as the equipment for new-age services is still being developed. He said that the preparations for starting 4G services by BSNL are going well. BSNL aims to launch 4G services in 2022.

Revenue reduction due to removal of interconnect usage charges
Purwar further said, “We have been able to maintain stable revenue (from services, excluding other income) in FY 2021-22 despite challenges. Against the income of Rs 17,452 crore from services in the financial year 2020-21, this year we will achieve an income of more than Rs 17,000 crore. Is. The loss of BSNL was Rs 15,500 crore in 2019-20, which came down to Rs 7,441 crore in 2020-21. The BSNL head said, “We are expecting the same loss in the current financial year as last year.”
