If you have also planned to get work in the bank, then it is important for you to know that in the month of August, banks will be closed for about 15 days in some states. The list of holidays released by the Reserve Bank of India shows that banks will be closed for about 15 days on many special occasions including weekly holidays. Out of this, 7 days are weekly holidays. Apart from this, there are other 8 holidays listed by RBI.
These 8 include holidays of some states, festivals or other types. RBI has divided these holidays into three categories. Of this, the first category is ‘Holidays under Negative Instruments Act’, the second ‘real-time gross settlement holidays’ and the third is ‘banks closing of accounts’.
Banks will remain closed for 15 days
>> 1st August will be a holiday as it is a Sunday. For this, in the month of August, 8, 15, 22 and 29 August will also be a holiday due to being a Sunday.
>> Banks are also closed on the second and fourth Saturdays of every month. In such a situation, banks will remain closed on August 14 and August 28.
All banks in Imphal will remain closed on the occasion of ‘Patriot Day’ except for weekly holidays.
>> Banks will remain closed in Mumbai and Gujarat on 16th August on account of Parsi New Year.
Banks will remain closed on August 19 in about 16-17 states due to Muharram. This day is Thursday.
>> Banks will remain closed in Bengaluru, Chennai, Kochi and Thiruvananthapuram on 20th August on account of Onam.
>> Banks in Kochi and Thiruvananthapuram will remain closed on 21st August on account of Thiruvonam. Banks will remain closed on 23rd August in both the states on account of Shree Narayan Guru Jayanti.
>> Banks will also remain closed in Ahmedabad, Chandigarh, Chennai, Dehradun, Jaipur, Jammu, Kanpur, Lucknow, Patna, Raipur, Ranchi, Shillong, Shimla, Srinagar and Gangtok on 30th August on account of Janmashtami.
>> Banks will remain closed on 31st August on account of Krishna Ashtami.
1st August, 8th August, 15th August, 22nd August and 29th August are Sundays, so banks will be closed in all states on these days. Apart from this, August 14 is the second Saturday of the month and August 28 is the fourth Saturday, so banks will remain closed in all the states these days as well.
