Yamaha has launched an updated version of its FZ model in the Indian market. The changes made by the company will apply to the entry level 150 cc version. The company has introduced the FZ-S in the Matte Red paint scheme. Apart from this, the FZ-S range is now coming with Bluetooth connectivity. Both the FZ and FDase-S have a side stand engine cut-off feature. If the side stand is engaged and the biker applies the gear, the engine will be cut off. This offers a very safe option for times when the side stand does not remember to disengage. The company has priced the FZ at Rs 1.03 lakh and the FZ-S at Rs 1.07 lakh. These are ex-showroom prices.
Reduced fuel consumption due to weight loss of 2 kg
The company has reduced the weight of the bike by 2 kg and now the FZ is coming in 135 kg. Yamaha has claimed that due to the reduction in weight, the motorcycle has become much better and fuel consumption will also be reduced. The company reduced the weight from several places like Exast for weight loss. Special changes have been made to the exhaust to make it sporty.
There are LED headlights, beefy styling, inverted LCD display and a single piece seat common factors. Locating the motorcycle is easy through the Bluetooth function. Apart from this, it also has the feature of e-lock and answer back.

No engine change
The company has not made any changes in the engine. It has a 149 cc air-cooled engine that produces 12.4hp power and 13.6Nm torque. Apart from the Suzuki Gixxer 150, Yamaha is the lowest power output bike in its category. In this category, Yamaha is competing with Bajaj Pulsar 150, Honda Unicorn, TVS Apache RTR 160 and Honda X-Blade.
