The company has indicated that the riders will be able to operate the reverse mode on the e-scooter at higher speeds as well. The scooter is currently available for booking at a token amount of Rs 499. The company has so far received bookings from over 1,000 cities across the country since it opened in late July. The scooter is expected to be priced around Rs 1 lakh and could go down further with state-level subsidies. The company may follow the direct-to-home sales model for its first e-scooter.

The Ola Electric scooter is being manufactured at the company’s Tamil Nadu facility. This facility is being said to be the world’s largest electric two-wheeler facility and a total of 10 million vehicles will be produced in it annually. Initially, it will meet the domestic demand and later from here it will be sent to Latin America, UK, New Zealand etc. Ola’s Future Factory is being built with an investment of about Rs 2400 crore.
Initially, more than 2 thousand people will get jobs in this facility. At the same time, up to 10,000 people will be appointed when fully started. It will have 10 simple assembly lines and will be able to roll out a scooter every two seconds and 25,000 batteries per day. Ola Electric will compete with Hero Electric, TVS, Bajaj, Ather Energy, Okinawa and other companies. If the company is to be believed, Ola’s electric scooter will give a range of 150 km in a single charge and will come with fast charging support. Along with this, you will also get the benefit of incentives given by the state governments.
Ola Electric has started booking its upcoming electric scooter. This electric scooter can be booked by paying just Rs 499. This scooter will be charged up to 0-50 percent in just 18 minutes. It will take about 2 hours 30 minutes for its battery to be fully charged.
