The company sells rapid and superb in the Indian market. Apart from this, India is preparing to take off its SUV in June. Along with this, डाkoda has also decided to distance itself from the diesel powertrain. The company will launch only petrol cars in the Indian market.
Gurpratap Boparai, managing director of Skoda Auto Volkswagen India, said, “Electric vehicles are not cheap for the common people in India right now. Battery prices have come down but these internal combustion engines are not in a position to compete with cars. It will take a few years now. ” Boparai said that the electric car business is not financially viable in India right now.
As part of the India 2.0 project, Germany’s vehicle group Volkswagen announced in 2018 that it would invest one billion euros as a strategy to expand its presence from 2019 to 2021. Since June 2018, Skoda has been pushing the India 2.0 project on behalf of the Volkswagen Group. Boparai said that Volkswagen Group will have a presence in the electric vehicle segment. Let us tell you that Skoda Kushak has been introduced in the global market on March 18 and the company can launch it in India in June. At the same time, its delivery will start from the month of July. The price of this car (ex-showroom) can be between 10 lakh to 18 lakh rupees and it will be offered in three variants of Active, Ambition and Style.
Talking about its features, Kushak’s upfront has a Skoda signature-style chrome-finish grille and is flanked by split headlight and LED DRLs. It comes with sporty 17-inch dual-tone alloy wheels, dual-tone bumpers and lettering on the डाkoda tailgate. It has been introduced in the global market with two petrol engine options, including 1.0-liter three-cylinder TSI and 1.5-liter four-cylinder TSI option.
