The trend of tech companies showing interest in making electric cars is nothing new. Sony is one of the first technology companies to do so.
Elon Musk
Elon Musk is often known for his funny reactions on social media platforms. He is seen as a person who does not shy away from criticizing his competition. In such a situation, Musk has recently taken a dig at those companies who have recently announced that they are also planning to make electric vehicles in the coming time.
The CEO of Tesla was replying to one of the fans who listed many companies. The list included companies that have recently expressed their desire to come with their electric vehicles and enter the EV segment. Names in the list are mainly smartphone maker companies, some of which have recently showcased their first electric cars.
Everyone was shocked by Musk’s statement
Tesla fans indicated that almost no one has started making electric vehicles, as have Tesla cars. The list names Apple, which is still planning its first electric car, for players such as Sony or Huawei, who have already revealed the design of their first electric cars.
In such a situation, the response of Elon Musk on these companies won everyone’s heart. Musk, replying to the post, said that, “Prototypes are easy, production is difficult.” Musk’s remarks are seen as a challenge for these new players who want to enter the Tesla business.
These companies are making electric cars
The trend of tech companies showing ambition to manufacture electric cars is nothing new. Sony was one of the first tech companies to do so when it presented its first electric car, Vision S, to the world at the Consumer Electronics Show in January last year. Apple, which is popular worldwide for its iPhones and Macbooks, plans to launch its first electric car by 2025, and is in talks with several car manufacturers to share technical expertise to build it.
More recently, Chinese phone companies like Xiaomi and Huawei have ventured into the electric vehicle segment. In fact, Huawei showcased its first extended-range electric SUV SF5 at the recently held Shanghai Auto Expo.
Tesla known for popular models like Model 3, Model S and Model Y electric cars topped the EV segment. However, its most famous cybertruck has not yet been produced. Tesla is building a new Gigafactory in Texas, USA, which is said to be the facility where CyberTruck will be built in the future.
