Tata Motors has sold a total of 66,609 units in the domestic market in March. The auto major sold 11,012 units in the same month last year. The company has also recorded growth in its commercial vehicle business. Tata sold a total of 40,609 units of the commercial vehicle last month. At the same time, the company dispatched 7,123 units affected by the lockdown in March 2020.
“We are constantly trying to monitor the supply chain and improve availability, especially with regard to the supply of electronic components,” Tata Motors’ Commercial Vehicles business unit president Girish Wagh said in a statement. Last month, Tata’s passenger vehicle sales totaled 29,654 units. The company sold 5,676 units in March 2020.

Sailesh Chandra, Chairman, Passenger Vehicles Business Unit, Tata Motors, said, “The passenger vehicle industry witnessed strong growth in the fourth quarter of the last financial year on a low base with strong demand for personal vehicles and driving demand for new launches.” The company recorded its highest sales in nine years in the March and fourth quarter. “

Tata Motors recorded total sales of 4,64,515 units in the domestic market for the financial year 2020-21, which was 5 percent higher than the 4,42,051 units sold in 2019-20. Commercial vehicle sales stood at 2,62,773 units in the last financial year, down 23 percent from 3,40,700 units sold in 2019-20. Passenger vehicle sales rose 69 percent to 2,22,025 units from 1,31,196 units in 2019-20 during 2020-21.
Maruti Suzuki set a new record for SAIL

The company sold 83,792 units in March last year amid a nationwide lockdown due to the corona virus epidemic, compared to 1,49,518 units of domestic sales last month.
