The Tata Harrier and Safari models now also get a new mid-spec trim with the introduction of the XTA+ variant. It gets a 6-speed auto-box with features like a panoramic sunroof.

Tata Motors has launched a new automatic mid-spec trim for the Harrier and Safari SUVs. The new Harrier XTA+ and Safari XTA+ models include a 6-speed automatic transmission option as well as some features from higher trim levels. The Harrier XTA+ is priced at Rs 19.14 lakh, while the Safari XTA+ is priced at Rs 19.34 lakh. All prices are ex-showroom. Both Safari and Harrier come with diesel engine powertrain option.
The 2.0-litre turbo diesel engine sourced from Fiat is good for 170hp and 350Nm of torque. Whereas in the XTA+ trim, it will be mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission sourced from Hyundai. Mechanically, the XTA+ remains unchanged as compared to other automatic Harrier and Safari models.
Features
Features list on Harrier XTA+ include auto on projector headlamps, LED DRLs, 17-inch wheels, 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, 8-speaker Harman sound system, automatic climate control, reverse parking camera, rain -Sensing wipers and panoramic sunroof included. Tata will also add iRA connected car features, cruise control and tire pressure monitoring system to the Safari XTA+.
Tata Harrier competes with Jeep Compass, Hyundai Tucson and MG Hector. On the other hand, the Safari takes on the likes of Hyundai Alcazar and MG Hector Plus. Apart from this, it will also compete with the upcoming Mahindra XUV700. However, Tata Motors currently has 41.2% market share in the same segment as of Q1 FY22. Tata Motors expects the XTA+ models of Harrier and Safari to help it capture more market share in the high-end SUV space.
