Tata Altroz DCA First Drive Review: Tata Motors has launched its new Altroz DCA (automatic) a few days back in India. For this pre-booking is already open and you can book it by paying a token amount of 21 thousand rupees. What is special about this premium hatchback and will buying it prove to be a profitable deal for you? To understand this, we have reviewed the new Altroz DCA. We are here to tell you how our experience driving the new Altroz DCA was.
How is the engine of Altroz DCA
You get a 6-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox in the new Altroz DCA. Talking about the engine, you only get the option of 1.2 liter naturally aspirated petrol motor in this automatic version. This engine is quite good and there is not much vibration in it. However, it would have been better if this gearbox was mated to a turbo petrol motor. Its gearbox is quite smooth. This gearbox can also be used manually. The new Altroz DCA also gives a decent mileage (12 kmpl to 15 kmpl).
The gearbox of the new Altroz DCA has been given shift-by-wire technology, due to which there is no leg of any kind in the power delivery, but there is a lack of paddle shifters in it. You also get a wet clutch in this gearbox, which makes this gearbox a good option considering the heat of India. To know more about the new Altroz DCA, you can check out its Fisrt Drive Review here. These changes have been made in the exterior
The new Altroz DCA has a sleek design and the exterior gets two major changes. It gets a new Opera Blue paint scheme, which makes the Altroz look more beautiful. Apart from this, you also get a DCA badge in it.
What other features could have been provided?
Many more features could have been given in the new Altroz DCA. For example, features like wireless phone charging, ventilated seats and an air purifier could have been given in the Altroz. Apart from this, the feature of volume knob could also be given in it. Earlier, the Altroz used to have a volume knob, which was very convenient, but now you have to use the touchscreen to increase or decrease the volume in it.

Should you buy Altroz DCA?
The new Tata Altroz DCA (Dual Clutch Automatic) price starts at Rs 8.10 lakh (ex-showroom) and goes up to Rs 9.90 lakh. At the same time, you will have to pay Rs 1 lakh less for its manual variant Tata Altroz. However, for this extra Rs 1 lakh, you get a lot of convenience, as you do not have to use a clutch in it.
Its gearbox is quite smooth and fuel efficient too. In this you get a mileage of 14-15 kmpl. The new Tata Altroz DCA is great to look at and offers many great features. Though you will find cheaper options in the market, it is a bit difficult to find a dual clutch automatic at this price point.
